You may be able to get extra help to pay for your prescription drug premiums and costs. To see if you qualify for getting extra help, call:
- BCBSAZ Member Services;
- 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227). TTY users call 1-877-486-2048, 24 hours a day/7 days a week;
- The Social Security Office at 1-800-722-1213 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. TTY users call 1-800-325-0778; or
- Your State Medicaid Office.
BCBSAZ members must use contracted network pharmacies to access their prescription drug benefit, except under non-routine circumstances when they cannot reasonably use network pharmacies. Members who use pharmacies outside the network will pay any difference in the non-network pharmacy’s charge and the plan’s allowable charge. Types of network pharmacies include (but are not limited to): retail, mail order, long-term care, and Indian/Tribal/Urban. BCBSAZ is a Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug (MA-PD) plan with a Medicare contract. Enrollment in BCBSAZ's plan depends on contract renewal.

You are eligible to enroll in A BCBSAZ plan if you are entitled to Medicare Part A and enrolled in Medicare Part B and live in the plans service area. You must continue to pay your Medicare Part B premiums (and Part A, if applicable) if not otherwise paid for by Medicaid or another third party. BCBSAZ has formed a network of doctors, specialists, and hospitals. You can use any provider who is part of your network. If you go to a provider out-of-network you may have to pay more for services received out of the network, except in emergency/urgent care situations.
